Last year the Nursery children planted pumpkin plants in the allotment. We explored the allotment together for the first time this year and found lots of fruit and vegetables growing. We had found grapes, apples, pears, peas and plums! The children then spotted our pumpkins! We have lots of little pumpkins growing. The children loved sharing their experiences of going to the pumpkin farm with family and we talked about how we can care and look after plants. The children then explored a pumpkin in the classroom, scooping out the seeds, counting out the seeds and describing the texture of the pulp.
