World Nursery Rhyme Week

This week we have been celebrating World Nursery Rhyme week with the children. They have been enjoying singing and preforming new and much loved nursery rhymes. Nursery rhymes play such an important role in early childhood development by helping with vocabulary and language, provide fun ways to support early numeracy skills, develop social, physical and emotional skills. We’ve had lots of fun.

The children acted out 5 little frogs outside together.

The children worked together to make a bus to go on holiday out of the large construction materials outside. We enjoyed singing wheels on the bus together using the music instruments too.

The children have enjoyed using the nursery rhyme props and small world toys in the classroom to sing 5 little ducks, 5little speckled frogs and the big ship sails as well as lots of other Nursery rhymes.
