Mrs Butt came into Nursery to talk about what she does at work. We found out that Mrs Butt is an Optician who is a person that looks after our eyes. The class were very excited about all the different ways she can check people eyes. She showed us lots of special tools and equipment she uses. We even got to try some of the glasses on and test out a special light. We looked at pictures to check how we see colours. The children enjoyed spotting the mystery numbers and letters in the pictures. She then showed us a model of the eye we learnt lots of new vocabulary such as pupil and iris. We looked carefully at the different colours of our friends eyes. The children enjoyed the visit so much and enjoyed talking about it afterwards when colouring in our optician sheets.
